Phuket is Thailand'Largest island and Southeast Asia's most popular holiday destination The main attraction for most visitors is the stunning beaches and crystal clear waters of the andaman sea. The three-kilometer long stretch of sand is lined with shops, bars and good seafood restaurants but also offers wind and kite surfing, sailing, swimming and sunbathing, Patong also has a reputation as the centre of Phuket's vibrant nightlife. It is here you will find most of the rowdy pubs, clubs and go-go bnars.
Karon is Phuket's second longest beach and is the location for many of the bigger and more upmarket resorts such as the Hilton Acrcadia Resort & Spa. However. they are set back from the beach, leaving the wide expanse of sand free of development. To the south in the direction of Kata while at the busier nortern end there are restaurnats and bars.
Those in search of Phuket's quieter side should head to Nai Yang Beach in the north of the island. Nai Yang Beach is the ideal place for a relaxing getaway. The lovely curving bay has a wide stretch of sand and is trimmed byu trees and small beachfront restaurants serving gtreat Thai food, the opening of Adamas resort & Spa, Phuket and Indigo Pearl means that there are now luxurious hotels at this idylic udeveloped spot.
